Zone Skipping and Regional Parcel Fulfillment Services

KGH 3P Logistics helps western U.S. businesses improve delivery times to customers throughout the Midwest, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and other regions efficiently served from Louisville, Kentucky. Clients send consolidated inventory or bulk shipments to KGH, where the products are separated into individual orders, prepared for parcel shipment, and released into carrier networks for final delivery.

This allows businesses to position inventory closer to a large portion of their customers without opening and operating an additional fulfillment center.

Improve Parcel Delivery Times From a Louisville Fulfillment Center

Businesses located in the western United States can face longer transit times and higher parcel costs when a large portion of their customers live in the Midwest, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and surrounding regions. KGH’s Louisville, Kentucky location allows inventory to move closer to these customers before individual packages enter parcel-carrier networks.

Clients send bulk inventory or consolidated shipments to KGH instead of shipping every consumer order from their western facility. KGH receives the inbound shipment, separates the inventory into individual orders, completes the required package preparation, and releases the finished parcels for final delivery.

In many cases, KGH can sort and release individual packages to the parcel carriers on the same day the consolidated shipment is received. This minimizes processing delays between the inbound and outbound portions of the shipment.

From Louisville, packages can reach much of the central and eastern portions of the United States within approximately two business days. The result is minimal disruption to the end customer’s delivery timeline while reducing parcel-shipping costs through lower shipping zones.

Programs can be structured around scheduled consolidated shipments, recurring inventory replenishment, or ongoing regional order fulfillment based on the client’s sales volume and customer locations.

How Parcel Zone Skipping Works

1

Consolidate Inventory or Customer Orders

The client combines products or completed customer orders into a larger bulk shipment for transportation to KGH.

2

Ship the Consolidated Load to Louisville

The consolidated shipment is routed from the client’s western facility, vendor, or other inventory location to KGH’s Louisville, Kentucky warehouse.

3

Receive, Sort, and Separate the Shipment

KGH receives the consolidated load and separates the inventory or completed packages according to the client’s order and shipping information. When the program requirements are established in advance, many shipments can be sorted and moved into outbound processing the same day they arrive.

4

Prepare Individual Parcel Shipments

KGH verifies each order and completes the required packing, labeling, documentation, or other parcel-preparation steps.

5

Release Packages for Final Delivery

Completed packages are placed into the appropriate parcel-carrier network for delivery to customers throughout the regions efficiently served from Louisville. Shipment confirmation and available tracking information are provided through the established client process.
